Unknown Ogre Simulator
A downloadable game for Windows
This is a fan-made completely free art-project from my YouTube video. Before downloading, you have to rewatch the entire Shrek franchise (ok at least 1 and 2 films).
Play as an Unknown Ogre to protect your swamp from fairytale creatures and choose your unique playstyle!

Gameplay hints:
Approach The Outhouse to open Skill Manager
Approach The House to open Day-Switcher
Collect Shards to get abiliites and passives to choose in Skill Manager
Input:
WASD - Movement
Spacebar - Jump
Q - select target / clean target
E - switch target, interact
TAB - switch target
Left Click - attack
1/2/3/4/R/F - skillbar
Alt+F4 - exit game (seriously, it's the only way)
Also, there's no loading screen so textures take some time to load.

yea i tried to download it once im in the game all i can do is walk around there are no enemies nothing happens. also i noticed when you press number 6 the UI just dissapears. and when you press 5 you hurt yourself one press on 5 and 99% of your life is gone so the second time you die lol very weird how its all bugged out cuz all i did was download the game here and extract the files and pressed play.

It's okay. Puss's attacks are too OP I feel like, especially in day 7 with four "A" rank cards all boosting health and physical/attack.

I was only nine years old. I loved Shrek so much, I had all the merchandise and movies. I'd pray to Shrek every night before I go to bed, thanking for the life I've been given. "Shrek is love", I would say, "Shrek is life". My dad hears me and calls me a faggot. I knew he was just jealous for my devotion of Shrek. I called him a cunt. He slaps me and sends me to go to sleep. I'm crying now and my face hurts. I lay in bed and it's really cold. A warmth is moving towards me. I feel something touch me. It's Shrek. I'm so happy. He whispers in my ear, "This is my swamp". He grabs me with his powerful ogre hands, and puts me on my hands and knees. I spread my ass-cheeks for Shrek. He penetrates my butthole. It hurts so much, but I do it for Shrek. I can feel my butt tearing as my eyes start to water. I push against his force. I want to please Shrek. He roars a mighty roar, as he fills my butt with his love. My dad walks in. Shrek looks him straight in the eye, and says, "It's all ogre now". Shrek leaves through my window. Shrek is love. Shrek is life.

works on macOS with Game Porting Toolkit, running at about 7 fps 1080p on M1 Air with 16 GB of RAM and 8 GPU Cores 😀

have you never heard of Wine or Proton? you'd think someone who aperently uses linux would have but ig not.
Does this run well with Wine?
on Wine specifically? probably not as it's an unreal engine game.
on Proton, then almost definitly yes.
What do you mean Wine specifically, Proton is based on Wine and there's plenty of UE games that run through Wine
like just wine without any modifications would be less performant then proton, and it might run idk I haven't tested it I'm just saying from my experiance it's far better to use proton rather then wine
Try running it using Wine + DXVK (Vulkan - it is available on GitHub).
Windows is the best! Even Mac is better than Linux!
Could you upload the unreal engine project file, I’m interested in how you coded some of the attacks and would love to look through the code
This would be one amazing study guide! I wish he would do tutorials instead of just speeding through everything!
But I'd also love to understand the skill and inventory system.
i will probably upload the project files (without the actual swamp, im not sure im allowed to share some models, so gotta change it to some placeholders)

If you jump onto
of the toilet, you can jump over the invisible wall and get access to outside of the play area. It truly feels nice to walk around.
Haven't managed to do it, you mean jump on the toilet's roof and then jump off outside the play area?

This looks really good! Movement is also quite nice. What do you do with the shards though? Is there some sort of inventory? I can't figure out how to acquire skills or weapons or anything
You need to use the shards in the restroom, there is some sort of inventory there.
Yes, you have to go to outhouse and press "E" it will open skill management inventory. All shards are active skills/stat passives. You can check out the video on my YT about the game if you have problems with understanding what to do (don't need to watch the whole thing, you can watch the gameplay part where I explain the gameplay loop)
Oh wow, never saw the restroom, don't ask me why. Thanks! It looks really, really good. I would tune the 'hitbox' of Shrek a bit though, especially when targeting it feels like Shrek is hit even when far out of range. Especially noticing it with Puss. Really annoying. It becomes more a patience game than an agility game.
It would probably also be good to be able to break free from targeting when jumping away.

If you are not talking about "auto target cancel when jump", you can press Q while targeting to cancel targeting
Yes, lots of work to do for you :-P Yeah, that's what I meant, however, if things get tricky I feel pressing jump to cancel target feel more intuitive, also the space bar is easier to hit than the Q.
But I'll say it again, it looks impressively gorgeous :-)
